# Main UI

## Information and Refresh

### **Info Field**

* Displays the layer name of current selected curves. Only the string after the last '*' will be displayed in the info box. For example, if you have a layer named as xgt\_*&#x62;raid2\_group3, the string 'group3' will be displayed.&#x20;

Renaming and duplicating a layer is not possible at the moment for Braid / Curl Builder.

* Sometimes a layer is deleted or when a new Maya scene is opened, if you do not see the layers in the Main UI, try clicking on this button to refresh the layer list.&#x20;
* Clicking on the refresh button will go through your layer's shaders, one by one, and make sure they has the require nodes (\_cond nodes). It's basing on the naming of the shader, so if you have renamed  (which you shouldn't), the shader, the refresh will not work for that layer.

## **Toggles and Creations**

* Toggle display on strand geometry or curves. This button gives you an option to hide Flow or Cornrow curves.
* You can MMB click on this icon to reset the visibility state on selected, or all, if nothing is selected.

* Isolate selected layers.

* Allows you to change the theme color for selected strand layers. Changing this will also change the color of any nodes associated to that layer, such as the Flow curve colors (new creation only), or the Cornrow planes.

## **Create**

* When curve(s) are selected, clicking on this button will create one separate layer for each selected curve.
* When nothing is selected, you can create an empty layer like our other builders.

## **Strand Editor Button**

### **Flow Creator**

* Opens the Flow Creator UI

### **Cornrow Creator**

* Opens the Cornrow Creator UI

### **Copy**

* Select a curve (or click on the layer in the main UI to select it) to copy the strand's settings.

### **Paste**

* After a strand is copied, click on the Paste button will paste over all the strand attributes.&#x20;

Strand attributes are the settings to the main body of the braid, or curl (including the cornrow work plane and cornrow curve attributes). Existing Flow curves and Cornrow curves will not be copied over.

### **Duplicate**

Duplicate will not duplicate existing flow/cornrow curves

* Left Click - Duplicates selected strands
* Right Click - Opens up Duplicat options where:
  * **Duplicate** - Normal Duplicate
  * **Duplicate** - Into New Layer
    * Duplicates selected strands and move them into a new layer.

### Mirror (Flip)

* **Left-click** on the Duplicate button will give you the option to mirror or flip across x, y, or z.

### **Delete**

* Cleanly delete selected strands.&#x20;
